Tirzepatide (Mounjaro)

Of course. And i am finding out that if i cheat at all it must be stopping me from losing weight I thought it night fall in my off anyway but it has not.For the first few weeks it curbed my appetite but that stopped. And i still vomit once a week. Have no choice but to up my dose but i am scared i will get more sick. Same thing happened with Ozempic but i had to stop because i was sick all the time. Talk to Dr this week. I really don’t want to up dose but this is not working, it works enough to make me sick but that is all. So disappointed. Last hope

Using it since June. Not really having any side effects (*maybe* some acid reflux?) but it’s not anything at all that impacts my quality of life or would make we want to stop taking it. My appetite suppression is great and I’m losing weight exactly as I should be. My only regret is not starting sooner!

my experience with tirzepatide on 11/13, i took a 2.5 mg injection of tirzepatide. i had done some research beforehand, but i wish i had researched it more thoroughly. i knew nausea and vomiting were common side effects, and i assumed i could handle it since I had dealt with severe nausea during pregnancy. i was wrong :( within just a few hours of the injection, i began experiencing intense body aches, as if I had been hit by something. i vomited the small amount of food i had eaten that day, which was only a bowl of oatmeal. From 11/13 to now (11/18), I have been unable to keep down anything, not liquids, not light foods, nothing. yesterday, 11/17, i finally decided to go to the ER. i explained everything to them, and they immediately performed extensive testing: three blood samples, a CT scan, an EKG, an X-ray, and...

I am on week 3 of Tirzepatide, this coming Sunday will be my 4th shot. Week 1, nothing. Week 2 I started to notice that my hunger and cravings were reduced and when I would eat, my portions were smaller. After starting Week 3 this past Sunday, I have noticed more that I can go a long time without even thinking about food. It was recommended to me that if you are cutting out Soda/tea/coffee that you would get headaches. To help combat that, you need to either drink some salt water or add sodium somewhere. I started adding the Liquid IV packets to my bottles of water everyday and that has been awesome! For fatigue- Are you also taking B-12 shots? I added those to my weekly injections as well and it helps for sure. Lastly, starting this week (3), I began to notice bowel issues when I eat...

3rd day after first injection and I haven't stopped having nausea. No vomiting. But the nausea, fatigue and muscle pain has been nearly been impossible to work with. Im not sure if I can go the distance if this keeps up. Its almost overwhelming. Hopefully it calms down as the dose dissipates but im not excited about next week's shots.

My first week in Dec was good I suffered from chronic hunger I'm a gastric bypass person with more weight to lose. I'm not diabetic. I had the first bottle from (Utah) Compound pharmacy mailed to me did great little to no side effects. The hunger went away completely. First month TZ 2.5 from a compound pharmacy in pharmacy in my state instant injection site rashes very itch and blotchy. Found they use B6 in their mix. My MD said I can stay on 2.5 or move to 5 so I tried 5 and again bad injection site rashes needing treatment. Went back to 2.5 still same rashes and worse nausea and cramping. My own experiment I'm going back to the original compound pharmacy that only uses TZ with no other ingredients. It's odd because B6, B12 and glycerin are supposed to be useful in the TZ.

Fatigue and some nausea - this is pretty common. Some places even mix their sema or tirz with B12 to help offset this very common side effect. Eat high protein, simple foods if you can. Avoid greasy food. Drink lots of water as others have said. I didn't notice much in terms of skin, but the fatigue was noticeable for several weeks to me.

Im currently in my second week of tirzepatide and I injected in my leg this time and haven’t had any nausea side effects so far, however I do feel much more tired today and I can’t tolerate sweet drinks. I usually drink Ghost protein and lemonade drops and today I just couldn’t tolerate any sweetness and had to toss my protein shake and my water. My tastes for things are different, like I crave rye toast and bacon, tuna and mayo, and loved the sesame seeds on the rye bread so much I was picking them off the plate 😂

I'm sorry you are having these side effects. Had my 4th shot Thursday of 2.5 mg compounded Tirzepatide. No muscle or mental problems, no fatigue. Only slight nausea the first couple of days three weeks ago. However, as I mentioned to another poster, my hunger has not diminished significantly like others are reporting. I thought my face looked dry this morning and I was even using a new, not cheap, nigh-time moisturizing mask. So, it was interesting you mentioned the dry skin. I know I definitely need to drink more water.

No matter what , every single person will react different to the medication. For me I had extreme fatigue before I started tirzepatide , always felt sluggish , & the medicine actually gave me energy and I haven’t felt this good in a couple years . I started in August 2024 , SW 216 CW 171 GW 165 . I did 2.5mg for 4 weeks , and have been on 5mg this whole time . I am so tired of being sick! Started on tirzepatide 14 weeks ago - the usual small doses increasing every 4 weeks. No matter what I read on user sites, I cannot get my GI system settled. Nausea, sulfur burps, diarrhea, reflux, ugh. Have lost weight and was trying to hang on to lose another 10 lbs but not sure I’m going to make it. I’m using any recommendations I have read but cannot feel “good”. Is it just me or are others walking around half sick?

Well, I had almost every single side effect one could possibly have. I had really bad acid reflux and nausea. I vomited probably three times the day after one of the shots. I’m on week 18 now and I’m titrating up to 12.5 in another week. I’ve lost 17 pounds which is slow I know, but I’m only trying to lose 20 more. I’m glad I stayed with it because nothing else was working. I could starve myself and not lose weight, I could work out till I was gonna fall over and it didn’t help. The exhaustion was almost unbearable but now I feel really good. I don’t know why it took me four months to get here but I’m here. Bonine works very well for nausea.

Bizarre experience on tirzepatide Hi all - others have advised me to post here. I’d like to share this experience to see if any of you might have had the same thing and/or can explain what’s going on physiologically. I started taking tirzepatide (2.5mg) to deal with relentless sugar cravings that wouldn’t go no matter what. When I say relentless, I really mean relentless. I’m not diabetic and my blood sugar is, inexplicably, in the normal range. I’m 5’3 and my starting weight was 50kg (110lbs). I heavy weight train 3 times a week plus 3 cardio sessions a week, and get a very high step count daily. My intention wasn’t to lose weight - it was to shut down or at least limit the sugar noise. I don’t normally crave normal, savoury food. Pre-tirz, I’d eat 1600-1650 kcal a day, with around 120g protein. I started on 2.5mg, cravings...

Add a vote for miracle medicine. 20 yrs on levothyroxine and multiple 30-40# weight gains that I didn’t always lose all after gaining. Increasing inflammation each year from increasing weight gain/TSH swings/life. Enter Zepbound… 15lb loss in first 2-3 months and was able to break up with my rheumatologist. Down 35 lbs at 8 months, but more important was the almost disappearance of inflammation in both small and large joints around month 3. My body is literally not gummed-up anymore. I had mild stomach cramps with the very first dose, a little lethargy on day 2 after shots for the first month, and a mild red/itchy site injection 2 days after the 5mg injections, but that’s the end of my side effects. They were very worth this level of feeling better. I’m due for a TSH retest, but so far the Zep & weight loss hasn’t made my TSH swing...

\+1 vote for miracle medicine. Been on tirz for 6 months, down 40lbs, A1c down from 5.9 to 5.2, and unpleasant side effects have been few and far between. I experienced some minor nausea, heartburn, and dizziness at the beginning, but only lasted a day or two. Side effects might rear their head again when titrating up, but only the first dose of a higher dose, for me at least. Once I got up higher in doses, the side effects basically became null. I am currently on 15mg, and I do not experience side effects anymore. Well, outside of the wanted effects of appetite control, satiety, inflammation reduction, and food noise control. I get lots of those, and sometimes mild constipation, but next to zero negative effects at this point. The side effects at the beginning were never enough to deter me from my overall goals. Mild at their worst....

My joint pain and general inflammation is down. My insulin is much lower(I had super high insulin before I started). I’ve been able to make healthier food choices because my brain isn’t screaming at me to only eat sweets. The only side effects I’ve noticed is some constipation, and sometimes I get nauseous(though the nausea might be related more to my migraines, so take that with a grain of salt). And now soda and sweets don’t taste as good, but for me that’s a good thing lol

I was very nervous to start Mounjaro bc I have thyroid nodules, but after trying hard for 2 years to get the weight off I finally decided to. It has been miraculous. I feel better than I have in years, including reduced inflammation. I was really worried about side effects but they’ve been minimal. Some slight nausea when I would increase my dose and hair loss, which is to be expected so I need to increase my protein. I’ve lost 60 lbs in 6 months without trying. I’m now starting to work out again and can actually do it without ever single bone and joint hurting. I can’t say enough good things

Same as the others. Tirzepatide compound (with B3 added) from GoodLife meds. I struggled with being overweight, fatigue, swelling, lethargy, apathy, and the resulting mental health issues for 6 years. I couldn't exercise because my PEM was so severe. Every part of my life was negatively affected by these struggles. Since starting TZ in October, I have lost 30 lbs. I am running again. I have energy to play with my kids at night. I started compound tirzepatide (2.5) a few weeks ago and wondered this myself. I have a corporate job and flexibility to work from home two days a week, but I'm required to be in an office for the remainder. I drink a lot of water, keep my protein up and exercise nearly every day. I think this has kept a lot of the severe symptoms away, but I did have some mild nausea and fatigue especially the first few days following the shot. I am lucky enough to be able to schedule my time in office around those days where I feel worse, but it wouldn't keep me from going in the office if I had to.

I was only on tirzepatide for a month, and I think it also contains B12. At first, I felt fine, but after my last dose four days ago, everything changed. I ended up in the hospital with hypoglycemia, high blood pressure, strong heart palpitations, and extreme dry mouth. I decided to stop the medication because the nausea, dizziness, and fatigue became unbearable. Now I can barely eat — just saltines or Greek yogurt help a little. Anything else makes me feel worse. I’m cold all the time, shaky, and my anxiety is intense. I’m on Zofran and anxiety meds, but they barely help. I’ve been praying for this to leave my body. Has anyone else gone through this? I’ve been off tirz for 3 1/2 weeks now. Anxiety is at all time high, my periods have been normal but spotting in between periods. Ready for this to all go away. I’ve talked to my NP and my GYN. They said this happens on these shots. My hormones were normal prior to starting this shot, however I couldn’t lose the 10lbs I needed to, so I tried this and yes it did work, but, I can’t deal with this. I’m 41, haven’t been on BC since I was 19, I’ve always been very regular, normal, no spotting in between periods. I should’ve done better research myself before starting this. Had I known, I wouldn’t have taken it.

I quit tirzep (2.5mg) 7 weeks ago and am still nauseas daily, extremely full all day long, and occasional vomit. GI did an endoscopy and didn’t find much, we are doing a Gastric emptying scan next month Has anyone experienced persistent nausea since quitting? Was only on the medicine for 3.5 months and was extremely sensitive to it, which is why I had to quit. My side effects mirror exactly how I felt on the shot, maybe worse. Wondering if anyone went through anything similar and what the timeline for recovery looked like for you.

I micro dose 1.75mg every 5-7 days, I’m 5’2, went from 172lbs to 136lbs in 9 months. I get some fatigue on injection day and the day after. I had mild constipation the first 2-3 months but started taking fiber twice a week(I stopped this 3 months ago). I have family and friends that dosed at the recommended amounts of 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15. They have been sick to no end, missed work, specially events, they are miserable etc. have they lost weight? Yes…… I would micro dose, side effects are no joke.

Constipation/bloating. Every dose increase the first two weeks are the worst for this for me but without maintaining a routine and supplements this would be a constant struggle for me, that took time to adjust and fine tune. In the beginning I think fatigue a bit, and I’ve been nauseous since I was a child but I never notice it being any worse - if anything less. Started July 27th at 2.5 for 5 weeks, 3.75 for 5 weeks, on second week of 5 - lost 36 lbs so far.

Yes! I'm having minimal side effects when starting or changing dose. Nausea, loss of appetite, and fatigue for one day. After that I'm fine. I'm going to lower my dose to try and see if I can find a sweet spot. I've only done three shots, about to do my 4th. check out r/tirzepatidecompound . It's very active and helpful. I started off at .22mg because I'm super sensitive and knew I'd respond. I did! Within an hour I felt the effects and suddenly, the meal I'd eaten 2 hours previously had me feeling full. (It was weird because I didn't feel full before the pin.) I stayed at that dose for 3 weeks because I was still feeling a bit of nausea for the first 2 weeks, though Nauzene (OTC) helped. I slowly titrated over 3 months until I was at 2.2mg and that was just too much for my system, so I backed off. I had already lost 30# and was thrilled with the weight-loss, but not the muscle aches and \*extreme\* fatigue so I titrated down until now I'm off of it.

I’m on week 7. Have had a small amount of nausea with some injection sites (I know it shouldn’t matter but it seems to for me). I deal with a lot of headaches that start 24 hours after an injection - can’t seem to figure out how to avoid them. Really hoping it gets better soon (I’m very hydrated and monitoring my blood sugar). Highly recommend r/tirzepatidecompound for lots of experiences and advice!

I’ve used consistently since the first of March this year. EVRYONES different. That said- I have the weird ones …. lol 😂 just prolonged fatigue when I started until my body adjusted and I get this weird burning sensation in my mouth. That also happened when I took Wegovy so I think it’s just something my body is weird about. It comes and goes. Kinda feels like I always have mint gum that’s been in my mouth without the mint flavor if that makes sense.

I use a a small dose of tirzepatide and I’ve had minimal side effects that have decreased with time. When I first started, I would get small amounts of nausea, major fatigue and some acid reflux the day or two after the shot, but would be fine the rest of the week. Now I get some acid reflux, but that’s about it. That being said, when I went up to high I did get sick to my stomach, but that was my cue to use a lower dose. lol

For me, from the jump day 1 I had the most severe insomnia I have ever experienced in my life. Only 2 hours of sleep at night for two weeks, two doses is only at 2.5 mg each. I had to take a week off. Appetite suppression is real, but so is the sleep suppression. This experience did lead to me to finally quit drinking coffee, which has been part of my morning routine essentials for years to stay awake. I’ve been trying to quit, but failed. Tirzep has definitely beat out caffeine in coffee in keeping me awake. LOL

I agree with a lot of this— whether it is literally the medication or just the overall feeling like you have a plan, a solution, and are on your way to your goals, that spark of hope can be empowering. I am 3.5 weeks in and feel more energy and desire to move more and plan fun things in the future. There has been news about it decreasing addictive behavior in general as people also drink less when on it, that also could be the health focused thinking rather than an actual solution to those that truly have an alcohol problem. But nonetheless if it helps curb unhealthy things it is a net win. I am always cold.

At the same time, my resting heart rate went up by 12 beats, my heart rate during exercise was correspondingly higher, and my HRV, which is normally around 60 to 70, dropped to 25. Training also became difficult. Interestingly, I kept taking a microdose of 0.25 mg per week, and I didn’t notice any negative effects from that. All my values improved again, and training was going well. Last week I had the idea to increase it to 0.5 mg, and it feels as if I’m back on a normal dose again. I’m only on the 2.5mg dose. Weight loss is coming from calories in vs out, correct? So as long as I feel appropriately managed, I should stick to 2.5mg, right?

I'm at the end of my 2nd week, getting ready to take my 3rd shot tonight. 2.5mg. I'm kind of amazed, but will wait to see. I was freaked out at first because I'm more hungry, find that I'm eating regularly, and have lost 9lbs in 2 weeks. I have PCOS, and so, I've always had a balanced, high fiber/mediterranean diet and no matter how much I would work out or fast, there was not significant change. Previously I could not lose weight with intermittent fasting, and I wouldn't have much of an appetite after eating breakfast. I can only assume that metabolic shifts are working and my body is able to burn fat and intake my BMR caloric requirements without immediately storing them as fat. But it is still early. I haven't felt any different yet except for a bit less brain fog which is amazing. Physically I feel...

My Tirzepatide Journey: Week 1 Recap Hi guys! 🌸 I just wanna share my tirzepatide journey for those who are thinking of starting this treatment! 😊 I hope this helps you guys and gives you an idea of what to expect. Here’s how my first week went: **Day 1 - Saturday:** At 3pm, I took my very first 2.5mg shot. Honestly, nothing unusual naman. So the rest of the day went pretty smoothly. Weight: 87kg. **Day 2 - Sunday:** This one was a bit of a hassle. I woke up feeling kinda hungover, but I thought maybe I just didn’t sleep enough. But the feeling lasted the WHOLE day. Every time I tried to eat, I felt like I was gonna puke. 😩 It was the worst feeling of dizziness ever! (I was honestly thinking about going to the ER, ha!). Tirzepatide: A surprising Benefit (Not Medical Advice) I had a TBI several years ago. For a while, it was rough. I went from being fairly placid and easy going to being short tempered and melting down at over stimulation. I recovered quite a bit, but I was still definitely not like how I used to be. A few months ago I started tirzepatide to help with weight loss, among other goals. Over a few months I noticed my mental clarity had started improving substantially. I talked to my concussion doctor, and she believes my improvement is due to the anti-inflammatory effects in tirzepatide. It really feels like I'm finally getting a part of myself back. My mental stamina is much improved and I'm more mellow. Note: This is not medical advice. Tirzepatide seems to have helped me--according to my doctor--but there is no knowing how it would help anyone else.

I lost 25lbs with Tizep and lost another 10lbs after getting off. I got off thinking my sleep was being effected but it wasn't. I see the problem as this... 1. People try to lose more than 1lb of weight or 1% a week. I saw this on the subreddits and it was stupid. These people took years to put on the weight but want the solution quickly within weeks and months. 2. They eat processed garbage on the drug and don't change their lifestyle at all. Any time I eat processed food, its just not filling. I remember a post about eating only 3 MdC sheeseburgers a day. Seriously.. 3. They dont believe in CICO, they think the drug works in magic ways. Its an incrediable drug but 90% of its action is slower gastic emptying and reduced food noise so you eat less. 4. They expect weight loss...

I had pain reduction (from hEDS) right away, at the smallest dose (2.5mg). I had chronic trigger thumb that began healing when my dosage increased (I think at around 5-7.5mg). My MCAS triggers improved when I reached around 7.5mg. My daily burning mouth completely disappeared. I also noticed a decrease in my severe reactions to fragrance. Unfortunately, all of that progress was destroyed when I was forced to go on an antibiotic. Since then, my MCAS is significantly worse and has not improved, despite increasing my Tirzepatide to 10mg. Before the antibiotic, the improvements I felt on Tirzepatide were almost life-changing. I’m just hoping to get there again.

So frustrating. My husband is prescribed Wegovy for his heart condition. He pays a co-pay of $325 per month. Yesterday was the second time in 6 months he was told it’s out of stock and they don’t know when it will be in stock. Last time he waited 5 weeks. I reported the shortage to FDA and just got a form letter reply. I take Tirzepatide. Though I’ve always struggled with my weight I’m not eligible for the prescribed medication as I don’t have a qualifying chronic condition. Yet this medicine, which I pay for out of pocket has improved my overall health and lifestyle dramatically. I’ve lost (& kept off) 58 pounds. It’s given me my life back. I’m not going without it.

Naltrexone made me incredibly nauseous. Two weeks ago I finally took the leap and tried 2.5 mg of tirzepatide after a small amount of cajoling from a doctor. I’m 3 years pp and at the rate I was going the 50 lbs would stay forever. Well, I have not had nearly the extreme side effects or much unpleasantness at all. I would say it is absolutely tolerable and completely worth it. I’m already losing a little weight, not over eating, and focussed on eating better because I am eating so much less. But every once in a while I feel ick and the next week I go back to my thigh to lighten the effects. For me, this is my second month, it seems like I had least side effect of stomach cramp and nausea when I inject in the more fattier part of body (belly) vs my outer thigh. Also, food aversion is real. I threw away bags and bags of snacks because I don’t want to eat anymore (but it showed me how much food noise affected me before, how much snacks I accumulated). I had fainted once, the doctor told me it was dehydration since I don’t eat and drink enough, causing not enough blood oxygenated my brain. So I try to drink a liter of water a day mixed with a pack of Liquid IV to replenish the electrolytes. For food regularly, I make myself eat an avocado in the morning, make a protein shake from protein powder (I’ve tried both IsoPure and Vital Proteins Collagen peptides, good with no flavor)...

I think 1.25 is a little high. i have two friends with unbearable side effects over 1.0. first week .25 i had bloating and slow motility. second week .5: i am extremely hungry for protein. motility is ok. overall feeling better but i think it's just less to deal with at once if you go up slower.

I've been taking Terzepatide  for 1 week now. First nights of sleep were very little sleep/ no Rem sleep. Once that pit in my stomach disappeared,  the sleep became a little better with help of Magnesium  Glycanate or Melatonin. Appetite is suppressed and has allowed me to say no to fried foods, fast food etc . I've lost 4 lbs this first week, but then I'm over 200 lbs. During the day if I hadn't get adequate  sleep I feel sluggish yet awake. I'm going to proceed with Tshot for a while to see how well it works for me. Active with job but no exercising.

I think you can!  If you listen to Dr Tyna it depends on how metabolically sound you are.  I already knew that I was doing a lot of different things right and simply not able to shift the weight. I did start at 2.5 but now looking back I wish I had started at 1.5. The weight has been coming off, I feel fantastic and there have been no side effects and knock on wood it keeps going well. Started at 175, 4 shots in and now at 165, working out and eating really well (I count macros to be sure I’m getting 100 G protein and low cal), and lots of electrolytes. I think if you have the chance to start lower, it’s a great idea, you have nowhere to go but up .

I think it’s probably very individual as to which dose works for how long on which person. A trial and error process. Went up in dose pretty regularly from May through Sept & hit goal on 12.5 mid Dec. I figure there’s only a certain window of opportunity where the medication is very effective and you have the momentum so I wanted to make the most of that timeframe. Never really had a dose become “ineffective” as I’ve always had very good appetite, control, and feeling full quickly. Sometimes my weight loss slightly stalled out and that’s when I would increase dose. I wanted to keep everything moving forward. https://preview.redd.it/t7yja8q6rvog1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=470ff7a4d5a8e4be380d89e5ea227d4a239a2636 Since Dec I have been spreading out the shots farther and farther apart, but continued to lose a little, so last week reduced my dose to 10 in an effort to stabilize my weight and I’m trying to eat more...

Started at 1.25mg and am finally up to 2.5mg - have lost 25 pounds in 6 months. One pound per week on average is a reasonable sustainable pace IMO. Any more and you are running large calorie deficits which is not super healthy. There are often weight loss plateaus along the way and then you should taper down off the drug which is more time. I don't see how you are going to accomplish much in one month.

First night after I took the shot at 10 am, I couldn't get anything down, yesterday morning I had some chicken breast and chicken broth (that took me until 2 pm to finish), then an egg and a few egg whites for lunch, and a single serving of buttered fiber pasta for dinner. I'll need to figure out some very calorie dense, low volume meals to compensate for the total lack of appetite.

I’m so sorry for your loss. That has had to be very difficult times for you. I’m glad you are doing something to gain control again. We are all different and respond differently to these meds. Me personally, I do not do any special diet. I did that for over 40 years and look where that got me… insulin resistant (among other things) and on these meds.. I focus on eating protein first at each meal. The amount depends on you.. I shoot for 80-100 grams daily. I eat a lot of meat and eggs. I stay hydrated drinking at least 80oz of liquid a day. I take Nectar Electrolytes daily to help with hydration (get on Amazon) I also take a gut enzyme daily and a gut Cleanse. This keeps me regular. These are organic by Julia Loggins. Not on Amazon. Good luck to the newbie, & thank you for this info & calculator- When I first started in mid October i was shocked to have lost 18 lbs by Xmas. I was microdosing 1.5 mg, then 2.5 & had just started 5mg. I ran out & was in the fence about continuing due to cost, but gained back 4lbs in January. I’ve now restarted beginning of February & been back on 2.5 for 2wks & told to increase to 4.5 last wk since I’m at a stall. Im hoping at some point I achieve continued weight loss - on the bright side I have 0 side effects, but 0 weight loss this month.

I gave myself my first shot on a Saturday morning. On Sunday afternoon it was like a switch flipped and I could just exist in my head peacefully. I had been working on my diet for a few months leading up to it (increasing fiber and protein, decreasing carbs) which I think helped me a lot. I have had minimal negative side effects so far (and many positive effects - including less fatigue!). I truly believe this is saving my life.  If you are an emotional eater, you will need adjustment. It won't fix the mental hunger, but it makes it SO much easier to do literally anything else. Truly.  Welcome to the club! (Edit to fix typos)

Just started last week on 2.5 Tirz with a goal of losing 25-30 pounds. I have been concerned about side effects, esp hair loss. I have lost about 3.5 lbs within the first 10 days. I felt minimal queasiness at first. Some constipation. Hunger suppression within hours. No desire to graze my pantry in between meals. I am a emotional snacker esp at work with stress. I have lost that desire. It has given me the psychological boost to improve my diet and do some extra exercise. i don't think I will increase my dose after 4 weeks but I shall see as I am concerned about side effects with a higher dose. Good luck.

I started 1 week ago. My biggest fear was the injection. But, to my surprise, I have had mosquito bites that hurt more. Then the no appetite and getting bit of a spanking when I ate the wrong things. (only you will know what the wrong things for your are) But I can say, don't eat anything high fat or heavy. The first salad I had after my injection was like heaven in a bowl! The greatest gift of taking this journey is the freedom from food noise and cravings. So, go for it and really listen to your body. It will tell you, for the most part, what to do.

She got me on antibiotics quickly and now am on Gaviscon after each meal and PPI twice daily just to keep GERD under control. Dr wants me to cut dosage in half next time- so 5 units Friday night and 5 on Tuesday. Tirzepatide completely changed how I see obesity (including my own) I want to share something a bit personal because this medication has genuinely changed the way I think about obesity and about people who struggle with weight. For context, I'm 37F taking 2.5mg and on to my 6th week. Lost 11lbs so far. I was never obese. I’ve always been on the higher side of “normal,” and after having kids I became overweight and was on the verge of obesity. Food (especially sweets) was a constant struggle for me, even growing up. I could control myself for a few days, sometimes even a few weeks. I could diet. I could exercise. But I could never keep it up long-term. Eventually something in my brain would flip and I’d lose control again. It became worse and worse in the last few years. Growing up, I watched shows like The Biggest Loser...

All my life, I would be insanely hungry until I finally hit “full,” which was at about 5000 calories. I could self-moderate down to about 3500 with a lot of effort, but that took a ton of willpower. GLP-1s move that bar down significantly. Now, I hit “full” around 2500 calories, and can self-moderate down to about 2000-2200 calories. That’s where the magic is for me. I started Mounjaro/Zepbound 2 years ago at 44 years old and having been over 300 since I was a teen. Went from 410+ to the 240's and still dropping. It's absolutely changed my life in every way. I'm treated better by everyone (sad but accurate), I got an amazing promotion and I'm doing activities I couldn't before like biking and hiking. I had edema, sleep apnea, I was prediabetic, crazy joint pain, hypertension and respiratory issues. Today I've got none of those, got to quit my CPAP last year. I had tried and tried forever and it just didn't happen. My wife and I have always been happy and loved each other but me being healthier has really opened opportunities to go places she used to go to with our kids while I stayed home. You don't realize how much you're missing until you're not anymore. The side effects have...

Lost 68 pounds so far. Been 8-9 months. Lots of diarrhea. No longer have a love affair with bread and pizza fast food gas station food. If I have some chips it’s a small bag and not very often. Have learned that you can have those junk food just not every 10 minutes like I was doing. My whole diet was junk food. Now it’s some mashed potatoes pudding fruit broccoli cheese stick granola bars. All that other stuff is every once in a while and it doesn’t taste great and if I do I feel it the next day. Just not use to it. I go to the gym 3 times a week and work out at home 5 days a week for an hour. Stuff doesn’t hurt anymore. Sleep better. Don’t wheeze. Ankles hip a knee no longer hurt. I like that people talk to me about weight...

Started oct. 24. 208lb. Now 180lb. Previously used protein sparing fasting with great results 5 stone in 100 days. Not sustainable in the long term. No issues with diabetes. I followed the prescribers recommended monthly increase every month until at 12.5mg I thought I was having a stroke and called an ambulance. Panic attack. All obs. Perfect! Before that, I was having occasional shortness of breath, light headed, had started getting allergic reaction to the injections. Main issue was around the slowing of the digestive system. I felt there was festering food in my gut. Could (can) only tolerate 'old people' soft food. Normally pretty much low carb person but meat causing major difficulties. Lots of nausea, but not like if you feel sick more like feeling anxious. Lots of CBT to sort this out. What else? Pain in muscles, like after a hard work out but no reason for...

I've lost 100 lbs, from 252 to 151 in 9 months. This drug really is a miracle drug but my pet peeve is that people think that's all I had to do; take the drug and I'm skinny. They tend to dismiss the part where I go to the gym 6 days a week, 2.5 hours a day. Where I drink a gallon of water every day and stopped drinking soda or eating junk food and eat healthy now. I used this drug as a tool to help me develop healthy habits but people who are ignorant of this drug, think it did all the work for me and that I'm lazy... So I don't even tell people when they ask how I did it because I got tired of the judgmental looks and backhanded compliments. I just say eat healthier and workout.

I've lost about 15 pounds over 3 months. It absolutely does reduce your appetite. My side effects weren't nothing...I do feel like barfing sometimes, its made hard exercise a little harder and it can mess with your poops a little bit...but I've felt like its worth it. I just recommend doing it with a real doctor that you can see in person, rather than via mail order.

I was on it for a month and lost nearly 10 pounds. Couldn't continue as insurance wouldn't pay for it. Gonna try and get back on it now that I've switched insurance. It's actually a great fit for my situation personally, as it works as an appetite suppressant, and that's my problem. I eat decently healthy food (mostly), I work out pretty frequently, but man I can eat three plates in a sitting easily. Something that's hard to manage.

I'm down 16 pounds since 3/3. Some of that has been lo-carb and being more aware of eating and portion sizes. It also silences the "hunger" cues and I get fuller a lot quicker. I'm currently on .5 mg and have a plan to get up to 2.4 mg to hit my goal weight. I am looking forward to it.

My Experience with Mounjaro As a 41 year old healthcare provider, I was struggling with being overweight, blood pressure, A1C of 6.0, constant hunger and fatigue. After attempting multiple diets and exercise programs I decided to try Mounjaro. I truly believe Mounjaro has saved my life and is a miracle drug. I started February 2023 and today I am working on tapering down (I’m back down to 2.5mg) I’ve lost a total of 75lbs but gained confidence and control of my health. Upon initiating Mounjaro, I did have to adjust to the nausea and diarrhea, I decided not to increase my dose every month, I took my time and increased the dose when I felt that the drug effects plateaued (avg 8-10weeks) As the weeks progressed I realized that I was no longer controlled by hunger and the “food noise” had silenced. It has been freeing and this in turn...

You AREN'T overreacting - that doctor is an *ss. Besides reporting them, go look for a different doctor. You don't deserve to be treated like that. When you eat supper tonight before taking that first shot, eat light. A salad or something light and make it a smaller meal. I've found that if the meal before a shot is a lighter meal, it's better. I tend to take my shots in the morning because I'll be moving around all day, and that seems to help with any heartburn I may get.

I’m so sorry. That was an awful experience. Here’s something that I wish I’d been told first…something like 70% of people do NOT experience bad side effects. I was scared because of all the stories..including the ones from my pharmacist and doctor. Everyone has personal experiences…but if you are having bad side effects, this forum has lots of good advice. After 4 months (one at 2.5 and 3 at 5.0). I haven’t lost a tremendous amount of weight (18 pounds) but the loss has been steady and feels long term. But the true miracle of this drug is that I just had labs done. My A1C is 5.6….down from 7.6 in December. Beyond weight loss…this is not just a “rich peoples” diet drug. The long term health benefits are immeasurable. My own doctor said, when I expressed that I didn’t believe that I could achieve that low of a A1C...

First of all--glad you got on the meds. They are not a rich person's drug, they are a super helpful medication that will save your life. Second of all --don't ever go back to that doctor. Find a new one. That is unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. I have been on it for six months now I have had minimal side effects and it has helped me lose a hundred pounds . I would've never ever been able to lose this way if it wasn't for the drug. So screw him.

My brief story.I'm thrilled with my progress so far! I've been on this journey for about six weeks now and have already shed a fantastic 22 pounds. The best part? No noticeable side effects to worry about. I did catch a little cold that lasted a day or two, but honestly, it was no big deal. Also, if things felt a bit 'blocked,' a few prunes sorted it right out – truly nothing to stress over. My simple advice? Just drink plenty of water, grab a couple of protein shakes, and then really just let the magic unfold. I'm basically off alcohol, no interest in it anymore or crap food. I'm not feeling hungry. You've got this! Enjoy the process

I am not telling many people I’m taking mounjaro. So when had dinner at a friends’ house they’d cooked these amazing hand made burgers. I forced it down, then in the morning they cooked a full English breakfast (again I forced it down). I spent the whole afternoon being sick. I don’t know if it was the mounjaro or just the fact I had eaten so much meat. BTW I was on week 1 of 5mg (in the UK)

Week 1 on Mounjaro – First Timer Update 🎉 Hi all! First time poster here, but I’ve been lurking for a few weeks and finally felt ready to share. I’ve just completed my very first week on MJ and wanted to document how it’s gone so far! I weighed myself this morning and I’m down just shy of 6 lbs 🎉 I’m fully aware that a good chunk of this is likely water weight, especially as I was terrible at hydrating before. Now I’m making sure I drink at least 2.5L of water a day, partly out of fear but also because it’s clearly doing me good! The biggest win for me has been the appetite suppression. It’s been strong enough to let me stay in my calorie deficit, stick to my meal plan and eat healthier all week, without food noise constantly creeping in. That alone feels huge. I...

First week on Mounjaro - my experience Hey all, about a week ago I made a post about how scared I was to inject my first dose lol. I’m happy to report that I got past that and thought I’d share my experiences re: my first week on mounjaro. I managed to lose 1.5kg this week which I’m absolutely thrilled with given my starting weight of 74kg (BMI 28). I know I probably can’t lose that every week, but hoping for around 700g a week. I took my first shot on Thursday night last week. The next day I had some mild nausea that started around 10am, which only lasted a few hours. Super mild, not bad enough to interfere with daily life. This was pretty much my only side effect! On the first day I was still hungry and had a bit of food noise but felt able to...

First week and holy sh!t So I just did my first jab on Tuesday (the 17th), and besides a bit of a headache and dizziness that same day, I haven’t had any other symptoms (knock on wood 😅). The appetite suppression is insane, it’s always been my biggest struggle in losing weight, and now I genuinely feel no hunger or rumblings. The food noise is also pretty much gone. I hope it keeps working for me long term. In 3 days I’ve lost 2.4Kg, granted I’ve been eating a liquid diet cuz it’s boiling outside and it’s the only thing that doesn’t disgust me right now. I’m so freaking happy. I also tried to edit my previous post on here but for some reason it wasn’t working, so I wanted to thank all of you who gave me advice about needle phobia, thank you!

The first 4 weeks are up (average results) Welp, I just completed week #4. Here's the cliff notes version for anyone who may find it interesting or helpful \- Almost no side effects except for some very mild diarrhea and dry mouth \- Very little appetite suppression, hunger/food noise levels about the same \- Cravings for junk food/deep fried foods are pretty much gone, which I'm grateful for \- Down 5.6lbs over 4 weeks, an average of 1.4lbs/week loss \- Conscious effort to be in a calorie deficit, about 1300-1500 cals a day \- Walking on a treadmill, uphill at a moderate pace 3-4x a week for 1 hour Could I have lost this weight without MJ? Probably. I have titrated up to 5mg as of last night. Let's see how the next 4 weeks go. Just wanted to write this and hopefully share some "average" results. Not everyone is...

Just let the shot work. Once it gets going more, you won’t even be able to eat much anyway. I still eat snacks.. I love ice cream and m&ms, but can I eat them every day? Nope, my gut won’t let me. When I think about eating, it’s usually salad or a small piece of meat. I mean sometimes my brain says order Chinese, and then I get a nice box of chicken fried rice no onion and eat about 6 bites and have to put it in the fridge or give my dog a lovely dinner. I think it’s really important not to look at food as an enemy, but to learn when to enjoy it. That helps me not to be disappointed in myself and to just try to limit my snacks more instead. It keeps me in control instead of food. I choose when.

Yes, i did this, too . 3 chicken strips , chips, and gravy from kfc . I had moved up to 5mg previously . I had the kfc on Sunday then jabbed again on tues, and on thursday, all hell broke loose !! 7 days of sulphur burps and brown rain every time I ate anything. You better buy some pepto bismol and some psyllium husks just in case. If it starts like mine, did I suggest you take 2 peptop bismol straight away with every meal and 2 psyllium husks tablets every day . This is how I settled mine 😌 fingers crossed it doesn't happen for you, but its better to be prepared as lots of people have said kfc affects them this way while taking mj 🙃 I didn't feel guilty we have to live our lives but I felt bad for my stomach and ass 😅
