Retatrutide

Retatrutide is a novel peptide medication designed for the treatment of obesity and metabolic disorders. It works by mimicking the action of certain hormones that regulate appetite and energy balance, leading to weight loss. The drug is currently being studied for its efficacy and safety in clinical trials.

My 5 week experience on retatrutide Before starting- 85kgs, 5’10 I have experienced the best and worst of reta. I started with 1mg but like in a week changed it to 2mg for which I don’t have a valid reason I’m just stupid. I was good but my appetite had TOTALLY CRASHED. It was hard for me to eat more than one meal but it was still fine when Week 4 comes in. The worst week- I HAD SO MUCH NAUSEA AND I COULD BARELY WORKOUT. Somehow I waited that week out with nausea meds and all and I decided to go back to 1mg as I wanna be able to eat too so I don’t lose all my muscle. Tho in the past 5 weeks I lost 7.5 kgs GREAT EFFECTS MENTALLY, GOOD CONFIDENCE BOOST

How are your energy levels? Do you feel more tired, normal, or more energized? more energized for sure it’s been easier to hit the gym. my metabolism is faster. • Does it affect your motivation to work out or recovery after the gym? yes more motivation to go to the gym. recovery i don’t notice a difference • Any changes in cravings, food noise, or relationship with food? no food noise at all. i still sort of have mental cravings but not the appetite for them. less cravings for greasy food. • How are the side effects compared to other GLP-1s like semaglutide or tirzepatide? i hated ozempic when i took it briefly. it made me feel nauseated by even the thought of food plus very tired. none of that with reta • Has it affected your mood, focus, or hormones at all? mood is better. but a little anxiety...

8 weeks on retatrutide – sharing my experience so far 💉 I’m currently in week 8 on retatrutide and figured I’d share a quick update. Started at a low dose (0.8 mg) and have been slowly titrating up — currently sitting at 1.2 mg weekly. The difference it’s made has been really noticeable: • Appetite suppression is real — food noise is basically gone. • Weight is coming down steadily without me feeling drained. • Early weeks had some nausea, but that eased up as my body adjusted. • Energy and recovery in the gym have been surprisingly decent. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but so far it’s been a really good experience. Cost/access is obviously not simple, but it’s out there and a lot more manageable than what official channels will likely run once it’s mainstream. If anyone’s curious about the process, side effects, or...

1. Check the source 2. Check to make sure you reconstituted the correct amount 3. Double check the dosages 4. Lower dose if everything checks out I’ve been running Reta with BPC157 which I think has helped some of the gut related issues I was having. First couple weeks were rough but tums seemed to help. If I am struggling to eat I take a couple hits off the 🍁pen. Also make sure to stay hydrated.

I have. I have had anger issues due to early childhood trauma most of my life. I do therapy, sleep, eat fairly healthy and practice tools to help with it. Nothing works like Reta. It’s my god send honestly. I feel like a totally different person. I now have the space inside to apply all the tools I learned in therapy to help when I do get upset now. But it’s better than night and day for me. It’s changed so much. I also cut back on weed and do not want a drink anymore, not that I really did drink, one or two beers if that. I can actively heat my brain talking about proper portion sizes and better choices. I’ve never been a two cookie guy but here I am saying no thanks after one…Reta has rewired me in so many ways. Sex and initiation is harder but...

I quit taking it because of no joy. Basically was finding no joy in the things I love. Worked extremely well for food cravings and losing weight though. Ultimately I chose to stop because I really didn't have much more to lose and wanted my joy back. Took about a month to be fully back to baseline after quit.

Only real side I've experienced was hair loss from it working too well. Been losing weight at like 2 pounds a week so my hair got weaker. Viviscal and ghkcu has fixed it and my hair is growing back at a steady rate now and the hair loss halted. Def would start on ghkcu and collagen/vitamin c right at the start of reta if I could do it again.

i lost weight to fast and was under eating way to much (800-1200 calories) and my hair thinned like 50% so watch out for that. It goes back to normal just have to eat more (i’m eating 2,400-2,800) now.

I have not been on it long. 8 weeks and 4mg, but I have not noticed a decreased food drive or anything other than some constipation, weight loss, some muscle cramps, and a bit less endurance than it’s jogging and weight training. Food is still very very addicting.

I've begun almost obsessively diving into peptides since starting reta....just over a month ago..and online shopping more than I should....I've had no desire to drink at all, food noise is gone ,down about 20#.. had been intermittent fasting for 90% of the last 2 years. Very ketovore style diet but this stuff just torches fat. Side note: also started tesamorelin/impamorelin-nad+/5 amino 1mq and glow. Don't know if my vyvanse is needed anymore because some days I feel.way overstimulated.....maybe my meds are too strong since I've lost about 65# last 3 years...but 20# in the last month...Retatrutide for all!!!

Some initial suppressed emotional affect, but that came back after about a week. Even after I upped my dosage. Start small, taper on, only bump dosage once the effects (weight loss only here) stops. 220->198lbs in two months. The weight loss there outside some water weight for muscle was less than 1%. 200 cal deficit and weightlifting 4-5 times a week cardio 4-5 times a week. 1mg every week with two doses per week. Bumped to 2mg twice a week after the 4th week. Off now feel normal, not shredded but definitely a significantly more tapered appeared and lost 2-3 inches of the waist.

I’m a woman and I’m on the highest dose of Reta. My sex drive is as high as it’s always been (which is regularly pretty high). Just need to find a partner 🤣. Reta helping me lose this little tummy is helping so I won’t feel so self conscious during sex. I also still enjoy drinking and food, but I just don’t desire to overdo it.

First Week! Progress and Concerns so far. Hey all, I see so many people asking questions early on, so adding my first week experience to hopefully provide input to someone searching in the future. 27M Starting Weight: 273.5 lbs Height: 6'1" Last Measured Weight yesterday: 271 lbs First shot was 5 days ago; 1mg. Felt some effects day one, been keeping my protein intake high, around 150mg of protein per day, though not as high as some people suggest. Tracking calories well, need to get my fiber intake up a bit tho. Biggest Concern: Appetite suppression/food noise was nonexistent for days 1-3. By the end of day 4, I had some of the craziest cravings/food noise I have ever had, gave into some of them. Like I haven't had an issue eating like that in years. Really weird. Calorie deficit for the day was lost that night, still well under...

I am 60yo woman. I started Reta in one of the studies, Aug, 2024. Exhausted. At my wits end. Obese since age 7. The family embarrassment. Bullied, most fat kids into adulthood know the drill. Had, and still have a very good career, and have always been active. I've tried every tried every diet under the sun. Lost and regained dozens of times. It wasn't laziness, lack of motivation, or anything close to that. I was at 339 pounds, on four BP meds, on a CPAP, not on a cholesterol med, even though my cholesterol was 370. My PCP refused my request for Ozempic. At the end of the double blind study, I was 265. I am buying gray, and now at 176, on no BP meds, no CPAP, my cholesterol is 199. I am tapering my dose down, slowly, to let my skin catch up to the rest of...

I've been studying reta for a while and I finally made the leap. My grandfather is a endocrinologist at Hopkins University. He's been going over it with me and agreed it's all good.  I have major medical conditions like a rare blood disorder,  an autoimmune anemia disorder,  lupus , pots and m. Gravis . So trust me when I say I took it seriously because im already so sick. Today I woke up and for the first time my glucose was 78. .  In 40 years it's never been under 100. I was shocked.  Go for it.

PCOS sufferer here. Post menopausal now but it (PCOS) still affects insulin resistance amongst other things. I lost 21lbs on Munjaro stopped (cost reasons) Started Ret 6 weeks ago only small weight loss so far which is to be expected this early and I specially with PCOS. I feel so well on it. Blood sugars are fab all bloods are absolutely normal. I feel the long term benefits ( improved cardio vascular inc dementia, possible future diabetes, inflammatory disease risks etc) for me at my age far outweigh the unknowns. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

If I were you Id wait to 10 to 15 years and remain unhealthy because being unhealthy is "safer " than fixing whats wrong now with a PEPTIDE that has been mostly all positive. But Im not you, im me and have reduced my a1c from 5.6 to 5.0. Weight down 40 pounds, all since Mid Sept. Ill take health over worrying about what's gonna happen 15 years down the line. IF your health doesn't deteriate more by then. But to each their own.

1st time GLP user. F, 53yo, lifetime exerciser, very healthy diet (I just ate too much) 5’9”, SW 175, CW 150, GW 140 “ish”. .25 first week, no nausea or GI issues at all, maybe a tiny bit of appetite suppression, did nothing for food noise / satiety. Went to .50 / week for the next 8 weeks and immediately started losing approx 1-1.5lbs per week while in a modest deficit (I did not want to lose too quickly) allowing me to eat enough to maintain my normal workouts. Food noise ceased for the 1st time in my life and I was satisfied/ felt full from normal portions. I think actual “hunger” is not as much of a problem for me as “food noise” and satiety. Went to 1mg / week split into 2 pins for next 4 weeks. Upped again to 1.5 mg every 5 days. Currently maintaining 150...

People forget that GLP-1S weren't even originally designed for weight loss. They were designed to control insulin resistance (IR) and weight loss is a side effect of that. Another side effect is appetite suppression, which helps a lot of people even if they don't have IR. Non-diabetics can also develop IR. I'm a T1 diabetic which means I take all my insulin externally. But I also have severe insulin resistance. On 12mg/week of reta, I'm able to reduce my fast-acting insulin by 95% and my long-acting by 50%. That was also true on 10mg/week of tirzepatide. I've also been able to lower my A1c because my diabetes is so much easier to control. The best part of GLP-1S was finally being able to lose significant weight and keep it off. But the massive insulin reduction and better A1c is also a HUGE benefit for me, that runs a close second.

I’m on week three of my first “cycle” of Reta at a low dose after bulking and cutting for a few years the old fashioned way. My weight is dropping off a lot faster than any other cut, and my lifts are staying more consistent than years past. My biggest problem with cutting is food noise, I’m not sure if it’s because I’m still early in the cut and am anal about meals and timing, but I barely ever think about food now.

I started Sept 15th at 0.5mg twice a week for my first week, then 1mg twice a week for my second week, then stuck with 2mg weekly after week 3 and titrated up as I saw fit from there (staying on the same dose for at least 4 weeks before moving up). Personally i felt very tired and lethargic for the first 4-6 weeks and I wasn’t sleeping well. Now I feel fine! I didn’t have any nausea really, maybe a couple times but only slightly. I did get this weird feeling like I needed to burp but nothing came out which I still get sometimes. I haven’t come off of it and don’t plan to, so I can’t answer that last question, but anyone will rebound and gain weight back if they fall back into old habits.

I started at 1mg for 2 weeks and felt absolutely nothing, good or bad. Jumped to 2.5 and noticed a noticeable lowered appetite. I’ve stayed there for 2 weeks so far. Seems good. Was on low carb before starting trying to hit 150 grams of protein minimum. Some days now that’s a struggle. Only had 2 eggs for breakfast today and took about 5-10 minutes to get it down. That’s usually a minute for me.

I started reta (as my first and only GLP-1) at 2mg/week and I wish I had started lower. I had every side-effect in the book, lethargy, skin sensitivity, nausea, diarrhea... thankfully not all at the same time but still, it was rough. Things eventually got better and reta has helped me lose 45lbs in 4-5 months (way too fast honestly), but if I could go back and start over I would start at 0.5 or 1mg/week to hopefully avoid some of the side effects. Not sure if my experience has anything to do with not having insulin issues or the diet I was on (low carb high protein), from reading up on reta it feels like the side effects might hit you regardless. There are some side-effect triggers like eating fried/ fatty foods it seems, but I haven't read much about insulin resistance.

not obese, no eating disorder, did intermediate fasting and workout to be in shape. started at 0.5mg a week, Could feel something was going on with my body but no sickening side effects. Having already healthy habits 0.5mg was enough to reduce hunger and start loosing weight. Gradually titrated up +0.25mg every week. Up to 2mg, but I think it's too much for me now that i've reached my goal i'll try maintenance at 1mg a week.
