Before going on BP meds, I religiously drank Hibiscus tea daily (32 oz) and drank beet root powder mixed in water (32) for 6 months. Unfortunately it didn't touch my BP. Hope it works for others, but it had zero effect on me.

Hibiscus Tea stabilizes readings, it is truly a wonder tea. Last month, I had bought a box of Hibiscus Tea from Starbucks just to try it out. Once I started taking it, I had noticed that my blood sugar levels had become suddenly stable. So I started to research it's effects on diabetes. It has been known to decrease cholesterol, reduce kidney damage (nephropathy), lower blood pressure, etc... So to all my fellow diabetic friends out there, I can not express it enough that it helps diabetics type 1 and 2. Below are just some peer reviewed journals on this subject. I have tried other brands of hibiscus (ie. Tea Shop, Corte Ingles, etc...) and they all seem to work as long as they have Hibiscus sabdariffa (hibiscus tea) in it. So feel safe to buy any brand you want.
