I’m 10 weeks on 20mg and while it has slightly helped my anxiety the side effects are too much. I’m gonna wean off pretty soon.

5 years in. Changed my life. Saved my life. The side effects took a couple months to balance out, but I’ve found my groove. Started at 10mg, went to 20mg almost 2 years ago.

Lexapro basically eliminates the anxiety I’ve had for decades and was causing panic attacks. For me, it’s been a miracle drug. The only real side effect is that it’s killed my sex drive.

I’ve been on 10mg for a year and couldn’t be happier. My only side effects were being tired the first couple of weeks and it is a little harder to orgasm but I still can every time

It’s changed my life drastically for the better. No more panic attacks, very very little feelings of anxiety on very rare occasions. Live, laugh, lexapro ❤️

It sure as hell as worked for me. I'm so glad I was prescribed it. Been on it since March, recently doubled my dosage. I feel the most "normal" I have in a very very long time. I don't wake up feeling like I'm going to die. Life isn't doom and gloom and I no longer spend hours each day crying uncontrollably. I can face tomorrow.

LOL, there should be a sticky post for everyone who asks this question on a daily basis, but I will tell you: YES. Yes, it has helped. Side effects are wonky as hell but most of them resolve themselves quickly. And the bottom line is: wonky side effects *OR* mental health— you have to pick ONE. Side effects work differently for EVERYONE, but if you are prioritizing THAT sort of fear, you are basically setting yourself up for failure. Ignore the fear mongering and embrace the HYPE. DO YOU WANT TO FEEL BETTER? Give it a chance, then. Lexapro isn’t for everyone but give it a chance. It changed my LIFE. (10 mg, almost 1 year in). You have to decide how YOU feel about it, not what TikTok tells you. If your doctor or therapist prescribed it, trust the process!

YES. I've been on 5mg for anxiety for about 2 months now and it's completely cut down on all my health anxiety. It's amazing how much more time and energy I have when I don't spend all my free time googling diseases that I'm convinced I'll die of soon. I really didn't imagine how big of an improvement such a low dose could make and I'm so glad I finally started lexapro after many years of avoiding taking SSRI's. I had some mild side effects within the first few weeks (nausea, mild headache) but now those are gone and I don't have any side effects. It did take about 4-6 weeks to really start feeling any mental improvements. Keep in mind that if you don't like it, you can always go off of it! You can also cut your dose in half and take a half dose for a few...

Entering my 4th week or so. I've had some events that cause huge stress for me and it's been so much easier. My ruminating is gone. My mind is so quiet. I had a small panic attack from the thought that I had while trying to go to sleep last night. But even that was muted and so distant feeling. I was able to actually think about what actually happened and immediately felt much better. I'm much more expressively silly and happy. I am much better now at just being in the moment instead of needing my phone to help me try to ignore my anxious thoughts. This medicine is a snuggly fit for me and I'm so happy I started it. Many stories that I have read seem to be people who are feeling good on it decide to go off of it because of that and then they...
