Cannabidiol (CBD)

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound derived from the cannabis plant. It is commonly used for its potential therapeutic effects, including relief from anxiety, pain, and inflammation, without the psychoactive effects associated with THC. CBD interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system to help regulate various physiological processes.

My mom made me take CBD oil before to make me calm down during my rage moments, it tasted like shit and didn't work at all.

If I'm doing CBD only, I like the oils and topicals, as they help with pain. At night, I'll also eat a true infusion edible that is 1:1 THC vs CBD on top of the topicals/oils. One gummy is just right to help and then I get tired and go to sleep. I have herniated disks, a bad shoulder, and a bad knee.

I've been putting ~3 drops of CBD oil directly into my coffee most mornings for the past year. I've noticed that when I get angry or upset, it tends to fade noticeably quickly and I feel more grounded most days than I had been before. Anecdotal, sure

I've tried CBD twice. The first time was quite good. I was just chilling and happy, and it made my afternoon quite relaxing. The second time though was like decieving. It had no effect in me. It was just like if I had smoked a cigarette

I swear by it personally. It has greatly helped my mood and anger. I do edible gummies. The ones I eat are infused vs sprayed on cbd so it's a better method. They're good. And they don't have the thc. I'm considering the thc to see if there's an added benefit but I recently tried thc cbd sparkling water and it knocked me out hah. I recommend cbd if you're considering it.

I was given CBD oil (sublingual) back in 2018 for anxiety relief. **I noticed zero effects from it** other than it made me sleepy. After the vial was empty, I didn't bother with it. It seemed like snake oil to me, but I know some people who have claimed it worked for back pain.

I've only got experience with CBD flower, so I can't speak to vapes or edibles. In my experience, it really helps if I'm experiencing a lot of anxiety. I take a few hits and I almost instantly feel less anxious and stressed. However, it has basically no recreational value for me. If I feel fine and smoke some, it doesn't really do anything at all.

I recently tried out some CBD lube, and I was surprised to find it genuinely had an effect. I'd been rather skeptical, but thought it would be a fun experiment for Valentine's day, and the results were quite nice! Very relaxing, improved blood flow to the areas we used it on, and the after-sex zen feeling was much stronger than without CBD. It's a quality addition to my sex life.

I vape cbd for anxiety and man....I feel great! It works better than xanax or even Klonopin for me. I feel calm and at ease, even in social situations. Vaping cbd is more effective than taking it sublingually, just so you're aware.

I use to put cbd in my coffee & tea. My joints felt smooth for months, I didn't even realize. I pretty much would skate day and night to get to work and home no stretching. But every morning I'd pop some cbd in my coffee & at night before I went to sleep. Its expensive though so its definitely a treat for the body.

ALL the CBD derived from Hemp, the stuff that's sold in grocery stores and is added to almost everything you see on TV... is Crap. But, CBD that you get from a Collective/Delivery Service does work and can be used many different things. CBD ointment(rub) is great for Pain Relieve, but it does take a little while for it to take effect. Not like Icy Hott, where you feel it instantly. I also have a Nephew that's Autistic and has NEVER slept on a regular schedule. Can stay up for day's at a time and then sleep (crash) for 2-days in a row). He's non-verbal and has been known to have "out-bursts". He's currently 21 and his mom (my Sister) has been using CBD/Edibles/Tinctures to help him sleep and maintain a mellow disposition for OVER 10-yrs and it's made an amazing improvement.

It helped when I had a muscle in my shoulder lock up. It was getting too tense to the point i was worried id have to go to the er like ive had to do before. I did the oil. Like half an hour later the muscle still feels tense but its no longer pulling on other muscles. By like an hour all discomfort had ceased, muscle was still tight but nowhere near what it was. Im sure had i not taken any oil, the muscle swelling wouldve exacerbated my problem and made it worse. Instead i was already mostly recovered. Granted, I took it before it got too bad. If it got to the point where I couldnt turn my head like before, the ER would be my best bet.

I tried CBD to help with anxiety and it seems to work pretty well for me. If you're on the fence about it, stores usually have smaller bottles that you can get for about 20 bucks to try it out before you commit and spend a bit more on a bigger bottle

I like it. I used the droppers it mainly to help when I feel a migraine coming on and sometimes for anxiety. I got mine from Veritas farms, I used the 250 and 500 I think, I used the 500 mainly to go to sleep. I also tried a salve which is the bomb, great for muscle knots and achy joints. I don’t swear by it as a holy grail but it’s a nice thing to have in your pain regime if your body likes it

i live in a state that doesnt like CBD. but it also borders a state that has it legalized. anyways my mom got into a bad motorcycle accident, (a tree jumped in front of her while she was taking a class to get her license) and shattered 1 vertibre and like fractured another two. so she had 3 vertibre fused together and was prescribed Vicodin. she was set up a medication plan to wean her off it after a bit but once she was off it she was still in pain. so my brother took a small road trip to the next state over (we live like maybe an hour or two away from the nearest town in the next state over) hit up a dispensary and got some CBD oil. she would mix a drop or two in her food or her tea, and she said it helped out...

Wow OP, looks to be about a 50/50 split saying it works/is snake oil. Which works out to our household's experience with cannabinoid supplementation. My wife gets next to nothing from it yet is sensitive to alcohol and OTC meds. I had a strong reaction to the first 10mg dose of isolate over 3 years ago and still get daily relief via full-spec CBD but am of average response to alcohol and OTC meds. I've been dosing 3 times a day, or more, since then. Why? Because my racing thoughts, anxiety, and chronic pain are knocked down to a much more livable state. Basically, the white noise of anxiety and over-thinking gets shushed so I can enjoy life with much less intrusion. Oh, and I can actually fall asleep like I used to in my youth, gone is the tossing and turning, fighting my mind that just wouldn't shut up....

Many people benefit greatly from CBD. Personally, it makes me feel like I’ve been run over by a truck. I use straight THC as a painkiller. For me, THC works better than CBD, better than Advil, better than alcohol. And there’s the small bonus of smiling a lot, too!

I don't like the vape carts. For some reason, the CBD ones taste like spraying air freshener into my mouth. I don't have that issue with THC ones, weirdly. My favorite way to ingest CBD is smoking it like I would regular weed. I've tried edibles and they didn't work out for me, and I've never tried the tinctures. I can actually feel a difference when I smoke it as opposed to eating it. Maybe that's just a placebo effect. For me, CBD was good for my anxiety, and not much else. I have chronic neck/shoulder pain, and I felt it didn't really do much of anything for that. It's good for when I get bouts of anxiety. I have PTSD, so sometimes my brain is like "something's coming. I don't know what & I definitely don't know why but there's Something. We need to be on code red high...

I have severe anxiety when giving presentations and roughly 50mg of CBD from five 10 mg capsules did not alleviate that anxiety as much as I had hoped, but it certainly made the presentation a bit easier (for me, I'm certain the audience was bored out of their mind with my monotone voice). When I'm at home and I'm getting anxious thoughts, 10mg is enough to help calm me down. I don't use cbd that much as it can get expensive and I don't seem to have as many options as have been presented in this thread (gummies, drinks etc, I only have access to capsules).

I have a cbd cream/lotion that I use. I have painful neuropathy from chemo. My hands, feet, and legs will buzz ( like bees under the skin), twitch, my nerves will physically move my legs, and shooting nerve pain. It's not constant, but it's often. The cbd cream is crazy effective. I can rub it on my skin and it calms the nerves in seconds as it's absorbed. It has saved my sanity, and I was able to stop taking gabapentin. My oncologist fully supported this. I also have a cbd/blue tansy oil balm that I use for headaches, and it is remarkably effective. I'm not against tylenol and advil for headaches, but this often does the trick without need for medication. Love it.

Edibles that contain a mix of both CBD and THC are a lifesaver, for me. Weed has the potential to give me anxiety, but cbd dominant products are significantly more "smooth". I'll feel like I'm on the precipice of being too high, and then... Nope, actually this is great. I'm chilled out. For whatever reason they kick in way faster, too. With 15 minutes of taking a gummy that's got 50 mg of cbd in it, I already feel my muscles relaxing all over my body, but it doesn't feel overwhelming or anything, like I'm super fucked up off of something, instead I'm super mellow. I might even forget I took something, depending on the amount of thc. Unfortunately I'm a chronic pain patient after complications from multiple surgeries. The CBD pain threshold is pretty low and by itself it does not make much difference to intense pain. What it is okay for is secondary or referred pain and muscle tension. The effect is mild but can be the tipping point to release the overall body tension that comes from a constant pain source. It is mild though and there are pharmaceuticals that can easily out perform it but with stronger side effects. It does help with relaxation and sleep quality, which can be very hard to achieve when in pain. The benefits though are low compared with pharmaceuticals (some of which are near miraculous) and in my experience CBD with a little THC is more effective as a natural supporting drug, as pain can take on a psychological aspect in the long term and is one of...

I'm the manager of a dispensary, fairly well versed in cannabinoids, and I use CBD to manage my anxiety to some degree. Here's some things I've learned and some things I've experienced myself. First, to echo many people in this thread, everyone is different. How effective CBD can be is really dependent on your body and, sometimes, delivery method. INAD, always consult a physician. But here we go: CBD can help with a lot of stuff, not just anxiety. Basically, CBD can bind to your feel-good receptors (So can CBD's siblings, CBC, CBG, CBN, etc), which makes it really effective for anxiety, pain relief, nausea, and some other good stuff. The pros are: If it works for you, it can be really helpful in more areas than just anxiety. Not much in the way of side effects. Can be used in a pinch if it has a small amount...

I got cbd pills from a dispensary. Pros: it made me focus more and keeps me active at work. It does make me a lot better at my job and calms me down. Gives me motivation I didn't have before. Helps me be more social. Cons: it only last for about an hour or two for me. There's so many different brands it's hard to know which one works for you. Although it makes me feel calmer, it doesn't make me forget why I was worried. Big pro in my mind, it did not have any negative side effects for me. It didn't harm me or put any negative thoughts in my head like antidepressants did

Pros - subtle effect for when you just want to chill, no side effects whatsoever, helps with sleep sometimes. Cons - expensive, dosing can be hard as it varies by brand/you can't guarantee the dose like you would with medicine, hard to find if weed is illegal where you are. It depends on the person. My dad and I both use it, it definitely helps a little bit but I only use it because I haven't had success with SSRIs (I react really strongly to them). I would suggest buying oils, and shopping around for a good brand. Really easy to get for me because I live in Canada, so I have a huge range of options, and even then it's really expensive and hard to find good stuff.
