No side effects and in fact, maybe a bit better recovery after my training runs. I found I wasn’t as achy afterwards as I was before starting my low dose Lipitor.

I started 10mg atorvastatin in September and have no side affects at all. I take it before bed. I just had a calcium score done 1 month ago and I got a zero.

I can attest that muscle atrophy and severe aches are a common problem with this drug. It gets worse as the dosage goes up. After two years on it, the muscle issues were so bad, I stopped taking it.

I was on these for a week and informed the doctor of my side affects and he’s taken me off them. I was waking up feeling dizzy and sick each morning. Not taking any statins now and feel like my normal self.

I noticed dryness like winter skin on my hands a week or so after I started taking atorvastatin, then on my face, including my eyelids! I tried putting vaseline on them at night but it didn't help much. I took a 2 week break from the drug (dry skin improved) and am now trying it at half dose. I have tried simvastatin, rosuvastatin and lovastatin and they all gave me terrible muscle pain, which is not as bad on the atorvastatin. This dry skin is not great either starting to think I can't do a statin.

Tried atorvastatin, had bad anxiety. Pravastatin, bad anxiety. Rosuvastatin, no anxiety at all. Weird how the strongest statin caused me no anxiety.

i started getting tingling in my hands after taking atorvastatin. The loss of feeling only lasts while my hands are tingling and mine is more positional but I did notice an uptick of those symptoms shortly after starting atorvastatin. I was under the impression the neuropathy was more of a constant then an on/off. I was able to deal with the hand tingling since it wasn't an ongoing thing. Recently I have had bilateral tingling in my arms radiating from shoulders to hands. After seeing a PT it seems mine is related to shoulder tendinitis that has caused some nerve compression. But I did start down the research path of neuropathy. One thing I had read is that statins can deplete your CoQ10 and cause overall long term damage or stress to your mitochondria so I have started taking supplements to help repair mine (**Ubiquinol, NMN and PQQ)**

I’ve been on it for three weeks and just started having terrible pain in both knees. It’s keeping me from sleeping. Not sure how much longer I can take this.
